Venesky-Brown understand the importance of the climate change agenda and are committed to playing our role in decarbonising the economy for a greener, more sustainable future.
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured. We have baselined our Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) for the calendar year of 2022. We will report on our results and key metrics on an annual basis in February every year.
Baseline Year 2022:
Year 2023:
2030 – Reduce our Carbon Emissions on our own operations (Scope 1 and 2) by 60%
2045 – Achieve Net Zero across all operations (Scope 1, 2 and 3)
2023 saw a total Emissions increase of 9%. The business has continued to grow since 2022, the rate of growth is higher than the increase in emissions.
This demonstrates the company’s growth in 2022 is now translating into increased turnover with a more efficient output of emissions.
Against the backdrop of an ever-increasing client presence in England we also face more challenges than ever to reduce our carbon footprint but it is a challenge we take seriously and will continue to analyse and work with our supply chain to reduce our impact.
The board of directors intend to set the following environmental objectives for the year of 2024. They will be finalised at the end of February.
In the future we plan to implement further measures which will continue to drive down emissions. Below are initiatives we intend to implement over the coming years:
Venesky Brown will prioritise actual reductions and energy efficiency measures and will only choose to use offsetting measures once we have exhausted all opportunities to directly reduce our carbon footprint.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans. Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting. Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard. This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the Board of Directors.
