Investors in Diversity Award

Venesky-Brown have been awarded the Investors in Diversity Award for Small Business.

As part of Venesky-Brown’s ongoing commitment towards maintaining and developing a working environment that is welcoming to people from all backgrounds and abilities, we have embarked on a journey with the National Centre for Diversity that lead us to achieving the Investors in Diversity for Small Businesses Award.

By embarking on this journey we were be able to engage with staff across all our divisions and enable employees to “have their say”, on how we are doing in terms of FREDIE: Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement, making these standards at the heart of everything we do.

Through the Investors in Diversity programme,  we have developed a working environment that is inclusive, transparent and we have enhanced how we communicate with a diverse range of people.

Venesky-Brown Sign The People Matter Charter

Venesky-Brown have pledged their commitment to the Supply Chain Sustainability School’s People Matter Charter.

The People Matter Charter was created to encourage organisations up and down the supply chain to treat people responsibly. There is eight commitments that have been produced and as a signatory, Venesky-Brown are able to evidence each of the commitments and show that we truly believe “People Matter”.

Venesky-Brown Become a Partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School

Venesky-Brown are delighted to become a partner of the Supply Chain Sustainability School.

The Supply Chain Sustainability School is led by a dynamic group of partners who set the strategic direction of the School and identify key issues to address, new training to develop, supplier day and workshop content, and, just as importantly, ensure the good governance of the School.

Venesky-Brown recognise The Supply Chain Sustainability School as a key industry-led organisation for driving improvement of sustainability knowledge and skills throughout the construction industry. Becoming a partner of the school has given us the opportunity to influence, support and direct the strategic direction of the school.

Successful ISO 45001 Migration

Venesky-Brown Recruitment are delighted to have successfully migrated from OHSAS 18001 to the new ISO 45001 standard for Occupational Health and Safety.

Venesky-Brown have developed an effective occupational health and safety management system to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions.

Venesky-Brown now hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.


Venesky-Brown’s Skydive

On Saturday 7th September 2019 at Skydive St Andrews, two members of our amazing team will be overcoming their fears and jumping from the sky to raise money for our chosen charity Health in Mind.

For this unique challenge, our team will experience freefall from around 10,000ft and get to take in the breath taking views of Scotland – fingers crossed for a sunny day!

Venesky-Brown Celebrate Success with Building Trades Agency Staff Framework

Venesky-Brown is celebrating yet another success with its recent placement on six of the Building Trades Agency Staff Framework councils in Scotland.

The Edinburgh-based recruitment agency and project solutions company have recently been awarded a new contract with the Building Trades Agency Staff Frameworks, to manage staffing projects for six Scottish councils, including East Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Council, South Lanarkshire Council, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeenshire Council, and The Highland Council.

Venesky-Brown’s responsibilities within these frameworks will include supplying suitably experienced and competent temporary Building Trade Agency Workers, in accordance with the Framework agreement. Working predominantly with the Housing Departments of each Council, Venesky-Brown will additionally supply workers and support to other departments within the respective Council on an as-needed basis.

Expected to commence in July 2019 for a period of two years, this framework project includes two one-year extension options at the discretion of the Council, with all participating Councils being committed to sourcing from the Framework Agreement where they have a matching requirement.

This project is Venesky-Brown’s fifth framework success in the last six months, and comes after their recent success earlier in 2019 with their appointment to two of the Scottish Governments latest Staff Services Frameworks. In addition to their framework ventures, Venesky-Brown still continue to fully service the private sector in blue collar construction staff provisions.

Venesky-Brown Recruitment Secure a Place on the Crown Commercial Service’s Framework

Venesky-Brown Recruitment are delighted to announce that they have been appointed as a supplier on the Crown Commercial Service’s Non Clinical Temporary and Fixed Term Staff Framework for IT Professionals throughout the UK. This new framework is in collaboration with NHS Procurement in Partnership and is open to NHS contracting authorities and all UK public sector bodies, such as local government, universities, charities and blue light services.

Crown Commercial Services (CCS) supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2018/19, CCS helped the public sector to achieve commercial benefits worth £945 million – supporting world class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.

Managing Director Martin Cairns said “We are looking forward to working closely with the framework and their clients, helping them source and supply high quality staff across the IT sector and giving our candidates another high profile option for their assignments.”

Venesky-Brown Recruitment Secure a place on Scottish Government Frameworks

Venesky-Brown Recruitment is delighted to announce their appointment to two of the Scottish Governments latest Staff Services Frameworks.

The Frameworks involve the sourcing and provision of interim staff services in the IT Services sector and Professional Services sector from 13th April 2019 to 12th April 2023, for Public Sector Bodies in Scotland.

Four contractors have been appointed to each of these Frameworks, with Venesky-Brown fighting off strong competition to win their place. These Frameworks are two of the largest interim staff services frameworks in Scotland and cover central and local government, the NHS, higher and further education institutions, and other public bodies.

Edinburgh based Venesky-Brown Recruitment was established in 2005 and initially focused on blue collar construction and civil engineering, however over the last few years they have diversified their activities moving into professional services and IT services.

Venesky-Brown engages with all sizes of clients from multinational businesses to SME’s throughout the UK and Ireland. This latest Government Framework project will enhance their expansion plans and strengthen Venesky-Brown’s position within the employment solutions industry over the coming years.
